The Ikelite B3 Bulkhead & Hotshoe Upgrade Kit is the most trusted waterproof electrical flash connector, relied upon by professional underwater photographers for over 30 years. Featuring a hard anodized aluminum body with gold-plated connectors, it ensures top-tier reliability.

The Ikelite B3 Bulkhead & Hotshoe Upgrade Kit introduces a new connector design with several key advantages:

  • Slimmer, more flexible cabling allows easier routing of the hotshoe cable alongside other accessories like USB-C or HDMI cables.
  • Flat-type connector terminations reduce the risk of accidental wire breakage.
  • Low-profile design offers more clearance between the hotshoe and the inside of the housing.
  • The non-locking safety connector lets the connector release if the cable is under strain, preventing wire damage or breakage.
  • Auto-switching feature for Canon, Nikon, Olympus, OM System, and Panasonic cameras eliminates the need to change hotshoes when adding a compatible TTL converter (not available for Sony cameras).
  • Starting January 1, 2025, all housings shipped from Ikelite with serial numbers 81200 and higher will include the updated system. For legacy housings below serial number 81200, these kits are available for upgrade. Make sure to select the right kit based on the camera brand and hotshoe cable direction (Nikon). Use the Hotshoe Reference Chart to find the appropriate kit for your Nikon camera.

Important Note:
Clear housings and older Ikelite housings with a right-angle bulkhead on the back are not compatible with this upgrade. If you have non-working electronics, please contact us to explore upgrade options.
